Harbour Town, Hilton Head Ball Drop
- As part of its Harbour Town Lights holiday celebration, The Sea Pines Resort (Hilton Head Island, SC) hosted an inaugural New Year's Eve ball drop to help ring in 2012. Following a traditional countdown, the popular vacation destination and annual site of the famed RBC Heritage golf tournament dropped an oversized, lit-up golf ball from the top of the iconic Harbour Town Lighthouse. The crowd-pleasing event, overlooking Calibogue Sound, will become an annual tradition at The Sea Pines Resort. To see photos of this unique ball drop, please visit The Sea Pines Resort on Facebook.

- Quaint Island is famous for its wild ponies and annual Pony Swim so a Lighted Horseshoe Drop in downtown park is fitting hokey holiday fun! Includes a Themed- Masqurade March around the square before midnight, this year its "Pony Up!" Its wonderful to dine/party with the locals at nearby restaurants then just walk to downtown park for festivites and stay overnight in town. Polar Pony Plunge on New Year's Day fun to cheer on the crazies or the ultimate cure if you over imbibed. Chincoteague is located on Virginia's Eastern Shore just minutes south of the Maryland line or 2 hour drive north of Virginia Beach.
