NYE Beach Ball Drop at Pier Park
- More than 10,000 beach balls will be released in air to ring in the New Year as part of Pier Park’s 6th Annual Beach Ball Drop in Panama City Beach, Florida on December 31. Pier Park, Panama City Beach’s premier open-air, beachfront shopping destination with more than 125 popular retail and dining choices, will herald in the New Year welcoming thousands of visitors who will commemorate the occasion with an evening of festivities, including the nation’s only family beach ball drop at 8 p.m. and then a rockin’ countdown at midnight.
Harbour Town, Hilton Head Ball Drop
- As part of its Harbour Town Lights holiday celebration, The Sea Pines Resort (Hilton Head Island, SC) hosted an inaugural New Year's Eve ball drop to help ring in 2012.
Following a traditional countdown, the popular vacation destination and annual site of the famed RBC Heritage golf tournament dropped an oversized, lit-up golf ball from the top of the iconic Harbour Town Lighthouse.
