Fayetteville Celebrates 31 Days of Glory
- 31 Days Of Glory Turns Memorial Day Into A Memorial Month. The town of Fayetteville, America’s First Military Sanctuary, is saying “thank you” to soldiers, vets and their families during the entire month of May. The inaugural celebration is called 31 Days Of Glory because the citizens of Fayetteville believe those who serve and have served deserve more than just one day to be honored. With numerous patriotic attractions and events, 31 Days of Glory has something for all ages to enjoy. • A Thousand Words: Photographs by Vietnam Veterans - May 2 - November 15, 2009. This exhibit contains 60 photographs from the Vietnam War taken by veterans from North Carolina, providing a compelling glimpse into daily routines, combat activities, and personal moments. • Armed Forces Living History Day - May 16, 2009. This program commemorates Fayetteville’s long history with the military. Re-enactors representing different time periods provide a variety of demonstrations and presentations.
