Besides adult and youth competitions in arts and crafts, livestock, poultry, crops and vegetables and more, the State Fair of Virginia features the Big Red Barn, where visitors can pet pigs, cows, rabbits, chickens, goats and other farm animals. Heritage Village, an annual tradition at the State Fair of Virginia, offers fun educational entertainment and a chance to explore Virginia history and to see how everyday household items, such as cornmeal, flour, soap, and tools, were made centuries ago.
Midway and Kidway amusement games and rides, along with great performances, some traditional and new creative fair food choices (Have you ever tried Fried Pepsi?) and much more round out the fun at this popular 11-day state fair.
