About the North Carolina State Fair:

The North Carolina State Fair, founded in 1853 by the State Agricultural Society, is administered today by the Department of Agriculture and is 100 percent self-sufficient. Attracting over 850,000 visitors, the North Carolina State Fair is the largest fair in the state and one of the largest 10-day fairs in the nation. The 344-acre fairgrounds site features numerous buildings, including a nationally acclaimed horse complex and a 25,000 square foot arena with a seating capacity of just over 7600.

Popular attractions at the North Carolina State Fair include midway fun, exciting grandstand entertainment, an interactive farm life exhibit, racing pigs, farm animals and farm crops competitions and exhibits, nightly performances, nightly fireworks and much more. The Village of Yesteryear, a popular fair attraction, showcases more than 75 artists and crafters, while Kiddieland Fun Park offers fun activities and entertainment for young children.
