Question: When is Memorial Day?
Answer:

Memorial Day, a federal holiday in the United States, is observed on the last Monday of May each year. Originally established as Decoration Day, Memorial Day commemorates members of the United States military who died while serving their country. Memorial Day weekend is observed throughout the Southeastern United States with many patriotic ceremonies, concerts, festivals and performances.

Memorial Day weekend is also unofficially recognized as the beginning of the summer travel season, making the long holiday weekend one of the most popular of the year for beach getaways, mountain escapes, shopping trips and other weekend destinations.

Memorial Day is sometimes confused with Veterans Day, which is always observed on November 11. It is also occasionally confused with Labor Day, the end of the summer holiday, which is observed on the first Monday in September.
