Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts

Year Long Entertainment:
The first American national park for the performing arts, this 100-acre site features a wide variety of summer outdoor and year long indoor entertainment. From pop, folk, blues and country to dance, orchestra, opera and theater, Wolf Trap offers something for everyone.Located in Vienna, VA, near Washington, D.C., this former farmland, donated by the late Catherine Filene Shouse, is operated as a public / private partnership between the Wolf Trap Foundation and the U.S. National Park Service.

Wolf Trap's Performance Venues:

  • The Filene Center, an open-air performance pavilion, accommodates 7028 with house and lawn seating. The late May to early September season averages 90 performances.
  • The Barns at Wolf Trap houses the summer Wolf Trap Opera Company and continues from October to May to present a diverse performance and event schedule. This casual setting seats 382.
  • The Children's Theater-in-the-Woods presents approximately 70 performances, recommended for ages K - 6th grades, on Tuesday through Saturday, from late June to early August.

Dining Options at Wolf Trap Include:

  • Ovations Restaurant is a 200 seat, open-air pavilion offering a la carte dining and a pre-event buffet. Reservations are recommended.
  • Picnics by Capital Restaurants Catering prepares picnics to enjoy before or during performances. Picnics ordered by 2:00 p.m. the day before the performance may be picked up at Ovations.
  • The Barns at Wolf Trap offers a selection of concession items, alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages.
  • Bring Your Own Picnic and enjoy it on the Wolf Trap lawn. Alcohol is permitted, but no kegs.
