Developed in 1956 by Charles Fraser, The Sea Pines Plantation established the model for upscale resort communities in the United States. Set on 5,000-acres at the southern tip of Hilton Head Island, the resort features three world-class golf courses and an array of other amenities. The Ocean Course was the first golf course on Hilton Head Island. The Harbour Town Golf Links is the site of the annual PGA Tour's Verizon Heritage Tournament.
