SkyWheel Myrtle Beach is the first observation wheel of its kind in the United States. Crowning the Myrtle Beach Oceanfront Boardwalk and Promenade at a height of about 200 feet above sea level, SkyWheel overlooks the majestic Atlantic Ocean and offers panoramic views of the Grand Strand. As of the May 20, 2011 opening date, it is largest wheel of any kind east of the Mississippi River. A state-of-the-art lighting system features more than one million LED lights and various light shows add to the excitement of a night flight.

SkyWheel's 42 Swiss manufactured passenger gondolas are fully enclosed and climate controlled for year round comfort. The convex, blue-tinted glass enclosures are designed to be non-reflective and UV protective. Each gondola provides space for up to six passengers, although unrelated groups of riders are not required to share a gondola. One VIP gondola features extra amenities such as leather bucket seating and a glass floor.
