The annual Tennessee Sales Tax Holiday starts each year at 12:01 a.m. on the first Friday in August and ends at 11:59 p.m. on the following Sunday.
Special Spring Sales Tax Holiday - For 2008, there is a special one-time holiday, from April 25 at 12:01 a.m. through April 27 at 11:59 p.m. If an item is tax exempt, anyone may make the purchase taxfree.
Tax exempt items during the Sales Tax Holiday include:
- Clothing, footwear, and school supplies (not including art supplies) - $100 or Less, per item
- Computers - $1,500 or less per item and not for use in a trade or business
