Thunder Over Louisville marks the beginning of the annual Kentucky Derby Festival

Home of the time-honored Kentucky Derby, held each year on the first Saturday in May, Louisville is a great springtime destination. In addition to the actual race, Louisville bursts into celebration during the preceding weeks during the annual Kentucky Derby Festival. The Festival offers something for everyone with over 70 events, including Thunder Over Louisville, the largest fireworks spectacular in North America.
