The Marine Corps Marathon, which has earned the nicknames The People's Marathon and The Marathon of the Monuments, follows a beautiful course through some of the most picturesque areas of Arlington, Virginia and Washington, D.C. Along the course, runners pass many famous sites, including majestic monuments and memorials as well as world renowned museums and U.S. government buildings in some of the nation's most historic and interesting neighborhoods.
