Eureka Springs, Arkansas

One of the most haunted hotels in America and a member of Historic Hotels of America, the 1886 Crescent Hotel and Spa was built of Arkansas limestone as a grand Victorian hotel for the privileged and elite. During its history, the building also served as a school for girls, and later, as a fraudulent cancer hospital operated by a despicable impostor, Dr. Norman Baker.

In addition to deceiving his patients' families into spending fortunes on useless treatments, Baker performed experiments on his patients, both living and deceased. His morgue still exists on the lower levels of the hotel, complete with his nightmarish autopsy table. Ghost hunters claim to have recorded high levels of paranormal activity in many areas of the hotel, especially in the morgue where an apparition of a full-size male has been seen by thermo-graphic videotape.

Ghostly visions at the Crescent Hotel include Michael, a workman who fell from the roof and died in 1886, a nurse pushing a gurney, a young female student who either committed suicide or was murdered and a man in formal Victorian attire who is sometimes seen in the lobby. Other sightings include the horrid Dr. Baker, as well as one of his patients named Theodora. Ghostly groups have been spotted enjoying dining in the hotel dining room after hours when the room was closed.

Ghost Tours and Packages
Ghost tours of the hotel and themed packages are offered throughout the year, including the Spirits of The Crescent Package and the Paranormal Pair Package.
