Produced by the Helen Keller Foundation, Inc. on the grounds of Helen Keller's birthplace and childhood home, The Miracle Worker is performed each summer on Friday and Saturday evenings from early June through mid July. The story explores the heartbreaking struggles leading up to the dramatic breakthrough of young Helen Keller under the tutelage of her teacher, Anne Sullivan. In addition to the performances, Tuscumbia's annual one-week Helen Keller Festival is held in June to commemorate the Helen Keller's lifetime accomplishments.
