Stone Mountain Park is open year-round, although many of the attractions are seasonal. If you are planning a visit, it is best to check the park schedule to find out which attractions will be operating. Some of the most popular attractions include:
Confederate Memorial Carving
Depicting President Jefferson Davis and Generals Robert E. Lee and Thomas J. Stonewall Jackson and extending across the side of the mountain, this enormous carving is larger than a football field. It was started in 1923 and, due to various delays, was not finished until 1972.
Lasershow Spectacular
The 45-minute laser and fireworks show combines light, special effects and music. For a good seat, arrive early and pack a picnic to enjoy while waiting for the show to begin.
The Crossroads Area
A reproduction 1870s town full of southern charm offers demonstration glass blowing, candle making, candy making and more. Several attractions located within this area include:
- Tall Tales of the South® 4D Theater
- The Scenic Rail Road for a relaxing ride around the mountain (with entertainment)
