Before becoming completely immersed in the upcoming holiday festivities, you can enjoy several wonderful early to mid November festivals and special events throughout the Southeast. These highlights offer great pre-holiday fun with an array of activities for all ages.

Stone Mountain Park - Indian Festival and Pow-Wow

November 6 - 9, 2008 - Stone Mountain, Georgia
This four-day annual festival, now in its 9th year, explores Native American culture through dance and drum competitions, craft demonstrations, cooking, music, storytelling activities and more.

Urbanna Oyster Festival

November 7 - 8, 2008 - Urbanna, Virginia
It's oyster season in Virginia and the Urbanna Oyster Festival, designated as the official Oyster Festival of the Commonwealth and celebrating 51 delicious years this year, attracts an estimated 80,000 people to enjoy more than 125 food and craft booths, a great Fireman's Parade with more than 80 engines of all descriptions, a Saturday parade and more.

Alabama Pecan Festival

October 31 - November 2, 2008 - Mobile, Alabama
This annual community festival features family fun with entertainment, contests, food and crafts vendors, carnival activities and yummy pecan pies.

Savannah Seafood Festival

October 31 - November 2, 2008 - Savannah, Georgia
The Annual Savannah Seafood Festival celebrates its 26th year with great seafood, entertainment by headliner bands, art shows, regional arts and crafts and activities, Friday night fireworks and more at Rousakis Plaza on River Street at the lively and historic Savannah riverfront.

Telfair Art Fair

November 7 - 9, 2008 - Savannah, Georgia
Showcasing original artwork, including paintings, sculpture, photographs, pottery, jewelry and more, this annual free fair, celebrating its 14th year, takes place in Telfair Square in the heart of Savannah's historic district. In addition to wonderful artwork, the event features an array of activities for children throughout the weekend.

Mountaineer Week

November 8 – 16, 2008 - Morgantown, West Virginia
West Virginia University celebrates Appalachian heritage and traditions with an array of activities at this premier West Virginia event, featuring music, food, crafts and other programs for visitors, as well as for the University community.

Mule Day

November 1, 2008 - Calvary, Georgia
Touted as the largest one-day festival in southwest Georgia, this annual event, always held the first Saturday in November, features a sunrise breakfast, mule parade, flea market with over 500 booths, barbecue and fish fry, regional entertainment and more.

The Florence Pecan Festival

Date to be Announced - Florence, South Carolina
This popular annual community event offers family fun for all ages, entertainment, arts and crafts, food vendors and more in downtown Florence.

Cucalorus Film Festival

November 12 - 15, 2008 - Wilmington, North Carolina
This annual four-day festival showcases more than 120 independent films, including features, documentaries, experimental films, shorts and animation, all within walking distance from each other in historic downtown Wilmington.

Seagrove Pottery Festival

November 22 - 23, 2008 - Seagrove, North Carolina
This annual festival features hand-made pottery and colonial crafts, with demonstrations and an auction on the last day of the festival, offering limited edition pieces signed and dated by local potters.
