Celebrating the Agricultural Heritage of the Southeastern States

Beginning in the summer and continuing throughout the fall, the bright lights of state and county fair midways attract visitors from near and far to celebrate the agricultural heritage of the Southeast with traditional fair fun and entertainment for all ages.

Georgia State and County Fairs

The Georgia National Fair, Georgia's annual state fair, takes place in early October at the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter in Perry, Georgia. Other regional country fairs take place throughout the state from early summer until early November.

Kentucky State and County Fairs

The eleven-day Kentucky State Fair, which has been celebrating Kentucky's history, heritage and culture for over 100 years, takes place in August at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville. In addition to the state fair, there are numerous county fairs, agricultural events and horse shows held throughout the year.

North Carolina State and County Fairs

The North Carolina State Fair, founded in 1853, is the largest fair in the state and one of the largest 10-day fairs in the nation. Held during October at the 344-acre NC State Fairgrounds, this popular fair attracts close to 800,000 fair-goers each year.

South Carolina State and County Fairs

The South Carolina State Fair, attracting over 600,000 annual visitors, is the largest event in the State of South Carolina. This popular fair is held in October at the Fairgrounds located in Columbia. Several regional and county fairs take place throughout the state from late August until early November.

Tennessee State and County Fairs

The Tennessee State Fair is held each year in early September at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds near downtown Nashville. Throughout the state during the summer and early fall, more than 50 other community and county agricultural fairs delight local residents and visitors alike.

Virginia State and County Fairs

The State Fair of Virginia, which is held early in the fall attracts an annual average of 250,000 visitors, offering fun for all ages. Also, from late June until late September, more than 25 county fairs offer traditional country fair fun throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.

The State Fair of West Virginia

Held each year in August, the State Fair of West Virginia takes place at the State Fairgrounds in the enchanting Greenbrier Valley and features agricultural and other exhibits, amusement rides, horse racing, entertainment and more.
