Featuring only hand-made items, this annual arts and crafts festival in downtown Wake Forest also includes lots of festival food and a Children's Village with art, games and activities.
- NC Strawberry Festival and Hot Air Balloon Fiesta - Chadbourn
May 1 – 4, 2008
Each year in early May, Chadbourn, located near the South Carolina border, celebrates its annual strawberry crop with a parade, strawberry cooking contests, art exhibits, strawberry shortcake, free entertainment, a car show and more. In addition, weather permitting, there will be hot air balloon tethered and un-tethered flights and a balloon glow.
- Carthage Buggy Festival - Carthage

Each year, beginning on the Friday evening before Mother's Day weekend, Carthage, North Carolina (located eight miles north of Pinehurst) celebrates its rich history and the famous Tyson and Jones Buggy Factory with a county community festival. The Arc of Moore County BBQ Cook-off takes place on Friday and the festival, offering gospel, country and rock music as well as food and craft vendors, children's entertainment and more.
