- Meet In The Street - Wake Forest
May 3, 2008 Featuring only hand-made items, this annual arts and crafts festival in downtown Wake Forest also includes lots of festival food and a Children's Village with art, games and activities.
- NC Strawberry Festival and Hot Air Balloon Fiesta - Chadbourn
May 1 4, 2008 Each year in early May, Chadbourn, located near the South Carolina border, celebrates its annual strawberry crop with a parade, strawberry cooking contests, art exhibits, strawberry shortcake, free entertainment, a car show and more. In addition, weather permitting, there will be hot air balloon tethered and un-tethered flights and a balloon glow.
- Carthage Buggy Festival - Carthage
May 9 - 10, 2008 Each year, beginning on the Friday evening before Mother's Day weekend, Carthage, North Carolina (located eight miles north of Pinehurst) celebrates its rich history and the famous Tyson and Jones Buggy Factory with a county community festival. The Arc of Moore County BBQ Cook-off takes place on Friday and the festival, offering gospel, country and rock music as well as food and craft vendors, children's entertainment and more.

May 9 - 11, 2008 Each Spring during Mothers Day weekend, several streets in Pilot Mountain are closed to traffic for this annual festival featuring arts, crafts, and food vendors, live entertainment, a classic car show and an antique tractor show plus rides and games for kids.
- Art in the Park - Blowing Rock
May 17, 2008 - First of six shows This series of six art and fine handcraft shows, held one day each month from May through October, features juried artisans in painting, etching, stained and blown glass, basketry, wood carving and turning, clay, photography, fiber, jewelry and more. (Other dates throughout the season are June 14, July 19, August 16, September 13 and October 4.)
