  • January 1 - February 28, 2009 - On the beach above the high water line - Jekyll Island, Georgia
    Hand-worked glass float creations including stunning starfish, sand dollars and other pieces will be placed along the beach for lucky winter beachcombers to find and treasure forever.

  • New Year's Bluegrass Festival

  • January 1 - 3, 2009 at the Jekyll Island Convention Center - Jekyll Island, Georgia
    Three days of great bluegrass music at the Annual New Year's Bluegrass Festival.

  • Atlanta Boat Show

  • January 14 - 18, 2009 at the Georgia World Congress Center - Atlanta, Georgia
    One of the largest displays of boats in the Southeastern United States, the Atlanta Boat Show features the latest models of boats of all shapes and sizes.

  • 2008 Augusta Futurity

  • January 23 - 31, 2009 at the James Brown Arena (formerly the Augsuta Richmond County Civic Center Arena) - Augusta, Georgia
    The 30th Annual Augusta Futurity features the popular cutting competition, bull riding, a Family Fun Fest, the Futurity Country Dance and much more.

  • Southern Gardening Symposium

  • January 16 – 18, 2009 at Callaway Gardens - Pine Mountain, Georgia
    The annual Southern Gardening Symposium presents professional speakers on topics related to gardening in the South. In addition to the lectures, the program offers a complete one-stop gardening marketplace and optional workshops.

  • Southeastern Flower Show

  • January 28 - February 1, 2009 at the Cobb Galleria Centre (new location) - Atlanta, Georgia
    This premier horticultural event in its 22nd year features landscape and floral exhibitions, plus garden merchandise, books, speakers and more. Many of the Southeast's premier garden designers and landscape architects will create extravagant indoor gardens for the Show, transforming the Cobb Galleria Centre into a vision of color and an explosion of scents. Judges from across the country will critique the entries of many of the nation's expert horticulturists and featured national, regional and local speakers will offer their expertise on landscaping, cooking, flower arranging and more.

  • Stone Mountain Park - Snow Mountain

  • December 31, 2008 – March 1, 2009 - Stone Mountain, Georgia
    New this year, Stone Mountain Park's Laser Lawn transforms into a winterland with Snow Mountain, a family snow park. Snow Mountain opens New Year's Eve and runs weekends through March 1, 2009, featuring three football fields of deep snow including a 400' tubing hill and a 30,000 square foot play area with activities for the whole family.   • Georgia National Junior Livestock Show and Rodeo

  • February 18 – 22, 2009 at the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter - Perry, Georgia
    The Georgia National Junior Livestock Show is scheduled for February 18 through 22 and the Georgia National Rodeo, which is sanctioned by the PRCA, is scheduled for February 19 though 21.
