The North Carolina Apple Festival, which is held annually on Labor Day Weekend, recognizes the apple and the apple industry in Henderson County and North Carolina. Events include entertainment, a Labor Day parade, street dance, vendors and more. Beginning the week after Labor Day and running through the following weekend, the South Carolina Apple Festival celebrates the beginning of apple harvest season in Oconee County, the largest apple-producing area in the state. The annual festival has drawn thousands of visitors to the Westminster area since its beginning in 1961.
