Sales Tax Holidays - Tax Free Shopping in the Southeast

A Great Time for a Shopping Getaway - During 2008, Sales Tax Holidays for certain items are taking place in 16 U.S. states, plus the District of Columbia. For the many participating southeastern states, Sales Tax Holidays dates and tax free items vary from state to state. Most of the participating states are offering back-to-school tax free shopping in early August and some have scheduled additional Sales Tax Holidays in other months for energy-saving shopping or hurricane preparedness supplies.

For 2008, Florida will not have a Sales Tax Holiday and West Virginia will participate for the first time, offering tax free shopping for energy efficient products for a week at the beginning of September. States in the Southeast that have 2008 Sales Tax Holidays include:
