Fall Travel Planning - Bursts of crimson, orange and gold begin to appear in some of the higher elevations in the Southeast US as early as September with the promise of much more to come as the fall season moves into full swing throughout the region. Although Mother Nature can be fickle and each year is different, these typical peak fall foliage guides will give you a general idea about when and where you might expect to see the best of the spectacular colors of autumn from late September to early November.
