Biltmore House, America's largest house, is dressed up in festive finery and welcoming visitors for the 2012 holiday season. Biltmore Estate is even more magical than usual during the holidays, recalling many traditions which began on Christmas Eve 1895 when George W. Vanderbilt first welcomed his friends and family to Asheville, North Carolina. Embracing the lyrics of Deck the Halls in a very big way, holiday decorations at Biltmore Estate include:
- A stunning 35-foot tall Fraser Fir in the Banquet Hall
- Dozens of decorated Christmas trees
- Miles of ribbons, bows and fragrant garlands
- Beautiful decorative wreaths
- Hundreds of red and white poinsettias
- Twinkling lights in the house and throughout the estate
- Thousands of colorful ornaments
