Holiday cheer is in the salty air at Myrtle Beach with Christmas variety shows, seasonal events, twinkling holiday lights, great shopping and more. Celebrating its 31st year in 2012, the Dickens Christmas Show and Festival takes place this week for four days, starting Thursday, November 8th and featuring holiday shopping and entertainment in the atmosphere of a 19th century marketplace. An array of popular Christmas shows are open for the season with live entertainment options including music, comedy, dancing, ice skating and more.

Within a few weeks, visitors and locals alike will be able to enjoy an array of parades, tree lightings and holiday-themed festivals at various venues along the Grand Strand. And, for a festive and affordable getaway, many Myrtle Beach hotels offer special holiday rates throughout the season.
