Wednesday June 10, 2009
Biltmore Flower Carpet 2009 - Following the unveiling of its first ever Flower Carpet last year, Biltmore Estate will delight summer visitors again this year with a stunning one-of-a-kind living tapestry August 14 - 30, 2009. The 14,400-square-foot Flower Carpet features over 100,000 flowers and plants woven together into a colorful fleur de lis design that will be displayed on the South Terrace of Biltmore House.

Plan Your Flower Carpet Visit - Visitors to Biltmore will be able to enjoy the Flower Carpet during the day, included in regular daytime admission, or during special Flower Carpet Evenings. Flower Carpet Evenings for 2009 will be held on August 14, 16, 21, 22, 28, and 29 and guests with evening tickets may enter the estate after 4:30 p.m.

On these special nights, visitors will be able to enjoy the Biltmore Flower Carpet surrounded by soft lighting against the backdrop of beautiful mountain sunset views. The sounds of live jazz will fill the air and Biltmore House will be open for candlelight self-guided visits from 5 to 8 p.m.

Evening tickets are $65 each with discount options for Twelve-Month Passholders, or guests may upgrade from their daytime ticket for an additional charge. Evening tickets also include daytime admission on the same or next day. To add to the evening, gourmet picnics may be ordered or you can enjoy dining in one of Biltmore's restaurants. Special Flower Carpet Hotel Packages are offered at the Inn on Biltmore Estate and several area hotels. For additional information, visit the Biltmore Estate Website.

it was shoulder to shoulder people when we visited, yet we had to reserve a time.that made it not so enjoyable. the food at the stable was terrible and the carrage ride was a ripoff. we had to ride with strangers even though there were 6 in our party. i paid 210.00 for us when it was advertised as 35.00.i felt so stupid after i paid for it. it lasted 40 minutes. now i where these people get their money. ripping people off!
