Freestyle Music Park - Myrtle Beach

Tuesday May 12, 2009
2009 Season Opens Memorial Day Weekend - Freestyle Music Park, formerly Hard Rock Park but with some changes and lower prices, has announced that Saturday, May 23 will be the official opening day of the Park’s 2009 season. Throughout the Memorial Day Weekend, the Park will offer several special promotions and giveaways, including free admission through May 31, 2009 for all active United States military, Coast Guard, firefighters, police and emergency medical technicians with valid military or service identification.

Also, beginning May 23 and continuing through Sunday, June 14, residents of North and South Carolina will be eligible for a $10 discount off a one-day general admission ticket, resulting in a ticket price of $29.95 for adults and $19.95 for children. To take advantage of this special discount, proof of residence with a valid state identification card is required.

Memorial Day Weekend promotions and giveaways, many provided by Myrtle Beach area businesses, will take place every hour on the hour throughout the Park. There will also be competitions for cash prizes for Park guests throughout the weekend. In addition, local radio stations will compete with each other in a collection drive to benefit the United States military. Park visitors can make donations, such as toiletries, nonperishable food items, crossword and puzzle books and prepaid phone cards, with their favorite radio station at the Park.

Freestyle Music Park operating hours for the opening Memorial Day weekend will be 11 a.m. through 10 p.m. Following the opening weekend, the Park has announced a special weekday operating schedule and prices from May 26 through Friday, June 5. Weekday hours will be 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the special admission prices of $24.95 for adult guests and $19.95 for children. On Saturdays and Sundays during this time period the Park will be open for normal operating hours. Residents of North Carolina and South Carolina will be eligible for the additional $10 discount off an admission tickets mentioned above. The regular 2009 summer schedule will begin on June 6 and continue through August 30.

I visited the former Hard Rock Park in August 2008 and found it to be creative, smart, clean, fun and a great addition to the Myrtle Beach area. I hope this new approach to the park retains at least some of the style of the original park and that the new Freestyle Music Park will prove to be a success for the new owners and for Myrtle Beach. I wish them all the very best, The new owners are on the right track with offering lower prices as well other promotions.
I think this new park will still cover some rock while adding other music interest.

Great Job FPI-MB (:

This is awesome. I am so glad that there is a place to go that standing behind our troops is so important to them. My husband is currently serving our great country in Afghanistan, on his second tour. It really touches my heart to see that yall are doing so much to help our military. The troops really appreciate it and so do the families. I thank you from the bottom of my heart, this is so touching!=)
