Spring in Louisville - The Kentucky Derby and More

Thursday February 7, 2008
Home of the time-honored Kentucky Derby, held each year on the first Saturday in May, Louisville is a great springtime destination from March through Labor Day weekend. In April, Louisville bursts into celebration throughout the weeks preceding the Kentucky Derby with the annual Kentucky Derby Festival. The Festival offers something for everyone with over 70 events, including Thunder Over Louisville, the largest fireworks spectacular in North America.

If you would rather avoid the massive crowds, there are other delightful spring events and festivals during March and late May. More about spring in Louisville
