The Torpedo Factory for Unique Holiday Shopping

Wednesday November 14, 2007
The Torpedo Factory Art Center, housed in a building originally constructed in 1918 as the U.S. Naval Torpedo Station, is a major highlight of the scenic Potomac River waterfront area in Alexandria, Virginia. Attracting roughly 700,000 annual visitors, the Torpedo Factory is a great place to browse or shop for unique holiday gifts, including original ceramics, photography, jewelry, stained glass, fiber, printmaking, and sculpture.

In addition to the regular hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, the Torpedo Factory offers extended holiday shopping hours on Thursdays until 9 p.m., from November 29 until December 20, 2007. A festive annual Holiday Open House, definitely worth a visit, is planned for November 29th from 6 until 9 p.m.
